How to call an american cell phone using a hotel phone in italy?

i am on a trip wth my famitl and my dad has the only working cell phone. i am trying to call him (he is out and i am at the hotel) what do i need to do to call his cell phone from a hotel phone in italy

First of all: you will pay for the call. Then, there are two options. If your father has an American SIM card (for example, with A&T) you have to dial "001 - YOUR FATHER'S NUMBER"; otherwise, you have just to dial his Italian number, without any area code. Bye

First of all, you should ask the hotel keeper if you are allowed... And then you have to dial your father' phone number with the international code (prefix) 001...
