Chaucerian's description of the gossip of Bath in the "Prologo" it's an ironic picture based on the contrast between the excessive celebration of her virtues and sarcastics remarks based on her appearance and her character.

Apparently the gossip of Bath is a weaver and her tissues are better than these produced in Flanders. She wears beautiful scarves that must be have dirty because they weigh "ten (cerca libre)".He wears scarlet longstocking and new shoes with spurs. When she ride a horse she is well wrapped in a wimple and he wears a big hat addition to a mantle around the hips.

The details of is physical are in sharp contrast with the elegnat and flamboyant clothes. She is a bit dull and she lacks some teeth(and in the Middle Ages it was a sign of lustful disposition),She has large buttocks and a pert and beautiful face but at the ruddy time.

Regarding the personality, we learn that she is an expert pilgrim (she went to Gerusalem,Rome, and Santiago and some other places) but her behavior against the religion is ambiguous and hypocritical :she is always the first to do bid in the curch and became angry if someone comes before her.

She loves smile and chat. It's exuberance and vitality derives by her consolidated experience in the art of sex:he had 5 husbands and some other companies in her youth,so her know very well the remedies of love.

As for personality, we learn that this is a pilgrim expert (she was in Jerusalem, Rome, Santiago and other places), but his stance against religion is ambiguous and hypocritical: it is always the first to bid in church and angry if someone comes before her.
