Should I use “have been“ or “had been“?
We have been in France for one week last year?
We had been hoping for you to succeed. (in a very old time of one's life)

You question is really not very clear. Dual enrollment in what?
In my opinion if you have the chance to visit France then do so. Never put off a trip until later because life gets in the way. Also school trips with a teacher who has already organized one before is a great introduction to a new country, bye

Con un complemento di tempo ben determinato e concluso (last year), non si deve usare il "present perfect" (have been). Bene invece il "past perfect" (had been)
